As the Administrative Assistant to the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, Tonia Siuts provides administrative support to the Vice Chancellor, the Chief of Staff, and is a resource for all staff within the division. Tonia began her career at the University of Illinois in 2002 in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. In 2004, she began work within Grainger College of Engineering where she has spent most of her time Most recently, she worked in the Information Trust Institute (ITI). In ITI, she served as the assistant to the Director, acted as the administrative lead, and provided operational oversight for the department. In all her roles on campus, she has experienced increasing levels of responsibility. Tonia has experience serving as the primary assistant to an administrator, faculty recruiting, visitor coordination, meeting and event coordination, supervision, and operational planning and oversight. She was awarded the ITI Excellence at Work Award in 2018 for demonstrating excellence in dedicated service and was nominated for the same award in 2021. Tonia was also nominated for the Chancellor’s Distinguished Staff Award in both 2016 and 2018.
