James Quisenberry is currently the Executive Director for Student Affairs Technology and Chief Information Officer for Student Affairs at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. In his previous role on campus, he served as the Associate Director of University Housing for Technology Services. Before joining the Urbana campus he worked in the private sector with online learning systems, focusing on curriculum and student information system products in K-12 with Pearson Education, NCS, and NovaNet Learning. Mr. Quisenberry holds both B.A. and M.S. degrees in Computer Science which he received from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. He is active in professional organizations including NASPA, EDUCAUSE, and ACUHO-I. He is currently serving as a member of the NASPA Technology Knowledge Community representing Region IV-E. Mr. Quisenberry is also a founding facilitator for the Illinois IT Leadership Workshop where he has served for over 15 years to graduate over 375 emerging leaders from all three U of I campuses and the University of Illinois System.
Mr. Quisenberry has over 35 years of experience using technology to support education. He focuses on building strong teams in all areas of technology support and invests strongly in leadership development for all staff so they can lead from where they are.
