Each year, three seniors, who have demonstrated exemplary leadership abilities, join the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs as Fred H. Turner Fellows. Meet this year's Turner Fellows:
Macy is a senior majoring in Molecular and Cellular Biology with a minor in Business and is currently considering a career in medicine. On campus, Macy works in a microbiology lab, conducts psychology research, and enjoys serving as an intern for LAS 101, the Vice President of External Affairs for the Student Advocacy Coalition, and the Treasurer of Order of Omega. In her free time she enjoys spending time with friends, enjoying campus, and golfing. She is excited to begin her journey as a Turner Fellow.
Ryan is an English major in LAS with a minor in secondary education and plans to teach high school English after graduation. On campus, Ryan is involved with the Student Alumni Ambassadors and served as their Vice President of Homecoming in 2017. He has also been an I-STAR, a campus visits intern with the Office of Admissions, a content tutor with the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics, and an undergraduate teaching assistant. He is excited to work with the university administration and help to create a meaningful student experience.
Alexis is an Advertising major in the College of Media. She is also pursuing minors in three subjects: Public Relations, Spanish, and Criminology, Law and Society. On campus, she serves as the President of the Student Alumni Ambassadors, the graphic designer for Illini Pride, is an active member of the American Advertising Federation, and serves as the Media Intern at the Division of General Studies. Prior to her time as a Turner Fellow, she served Student Affairs in the roles of a Leadership Paraprofessional at the Illinois Leadership Center and a Resident Advisor in University Housing. She looks forward to gaining even more knowledge of Student Affairs while serving as a Turner Fellow.
