COVID-19 Support Resources
Student Affairs is here to support you. Although we may not be able to meet in-person and support you fully, we are prepared to virtually support you as we are able for as long as COVID-19 distances us. Below is a list of resources for your use. Do not hesitate to reach out.
Here are some highlighted resources for your use. In addition, all of our Student Affairs resources are listed in the table below.
Current clients who have an upcoming individual appointment, you should receive email communication from your counselor with instructions. If you have not heard from your counselor, please email them or call them at 217-333-3704. Students who are not current clients, if you want to speak with a Counseling Center clinician, please call 217-333-3704 to set up a phone consultation. Students who have United Healthcare through the university may also access online counseling via http://telehelp4students.com. If you access this site through your UnitedHealthcare app, you can bypass the necessary insurance information requirement. If you need help, contact customer service at 217-333-0165 or email email@example.com.
STUDENT ASSISTANCE CENTER
The Student Assistance Center remains available to assist students. To schedule a virtual meeting, please call (217) 333-0050 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
WOMEN’S RESOURCES CENTER
The Women’s Resources Center continues to support students through phone advocacy and support for new, past or currently-served survivors and their support persons. Services are available Monday-Friday from 9:00am – 5:00pm. To schedule a free appointment, call 217-333-3137 or email email@example.com or your Confidential Advisor (for current/past survivors).
AFTER HOURS PSYCHOLOGICAL EMERGENCIES
The Counseling Center collaborates with the Champaign County Crisis Line to provide support and referrals for individuals needing mental health support after 5 p.m. and on weekends. Please contact the Crisis Line at 217-359-4141 (TTY: 217-352-4217) to speak with a counselor.
CRISIS TEXT LINE
Crisis Text Line is a national mental health resource that serves anyone, in any type of crisis, providing access to free, 24/7 support and information via text. Simply text 741-741 from anywhere in the USA, anytime, about any type of crisis. A live, trained crisis counselor receives the text and responds quickly.
The emergency dean supports students after normal business hours who are experiencing health or safety emergency situations in which an immediate university response is needed and which cannot wait until the next business day. The emergency dean may be accessed by calling the Student Assistance Center at 217-333-0050. If it is a true safety emergency, please call 911. - Campus Recreation and Les Mills are providing you with FREE Les Mills workouts. This platform offers 95 workouts across eight categories. All workouts have easy to follow visual cues. No data will be collected from Les Mills, and the service will remain available to you as long as the disruption from COVID-19 continues.
