Mission Statement

SFAC advises the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs on setting the amounts of student fees, excluding the General Fee.

Committee Charge

In addition to reviewing and advising the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs (VCSA) regarding the Service Fee, Health Service Fee, and Housing Room and Board Rates, SFAC will review components of the Student Initiated Fees on a four-year cycle.  SFAC makes recommendations to the VCSA relevant to increases, decreases or no change in the fee and rate amounts.  SFAC members also serve on the Tuition Policy Advisory Committee (TPAC) which advises the Provost on tuition rates and related academic fees.

Roster

• Six (6) Undergraduate Students, nominated by the Illinois Student Government
• Two (2) Graduate Students, nominated by the Illinois Student Government
• Two (2) At-Large Students nominated by the Illinois Student Government
• One staff member appointed by the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs
• The Treasurer of Illinois Student Government, ex-officio
• Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, Auxiliary, Health & Wellbeing (AVC), Chair
• Additional staff and student appointments at the discretion of the AVC

Time Commitment

Mondays and Wednesdays, 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, Fall Semester, late-August through late-October and then one week in early-November.
