Your Gift–Your Choice

Student Affairs is constantly amazed at the generosity of our friends and alums. We are happy that you consider us in all forms of giving. If you would like assistance in how to make a gift, our staff can help you make choices that will fit your style of giving, and be financially beneficial to you as well. Along with the University of Illinois Foundation and Office for Institutional Advancement, we want to ensure you receive the most effective, personally satisfying, and fiscally responsible method for your contribution. We are happy to work with you and your financial and legal advisors without cost or obligation to fulfill your personal, family, and business short and long-term charitable goals. We can also offer charitable giving techniques that will best benefit Illinois students.

The Annual Fund

Annual gifts are annual current contributions that can be used by Student Affairs immediately. With state funding providing only 3% of Student Affairs' budget, your private gifts allow Student Affairs the flexibility to meet the needs of our students now. This can mean:
• increased leadership opportunities for undergraduates,
• awards and scholarships for students of merit or need,
• facility development and enhancements, and
• funding for student organizations

Endowed Gifts

An endowment to Student Affairs gives us the power to maintain the highest level of support to our programs and services–in perpetuity. Endowments may support:
• directorships,
• programs
• scholarships and lecture series.
Because the principal of this gift remains intact, each endowment bestows a legacy which honors its benefactor and stands as a memorial of giving while providing opportunities to enhance the Illinois Experience.

Planned Giving and Deferred Gifts

Planned giving and deferred gifts are the result of careful planning and stewardship of your charitable gifts. With considerations for overall financial, tax, and estate planning, we will work with you and your financial institutions to realize the benefits for both you and Illinois students. These can include:
• bequests,
• charitable lead trusts and gift annuities,
• life insurance
• pooled income funds
• retirement accounts
... and much more.
You can rest assured that your gift is a promise in the future for Student Affairs in its quest to provide learning outcomes that will ensure each Illinois student can benefit from your generosity.
