Leslie Morrow

Leslie self-identifies as a queer woman of color and advocate for change. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a master’s in College Student Personnel, both from Miami University. Leslie brings a history of intersectional and on- and off-campus coalition work. She works on a variety of committees at the University of Illinois, many of which are devoted to diversity and social justice. Some of these committees include the Chancellor’s LGBT Advisory Committee, Sexual Orientation Diversity Allies, and the Student Affairs Diversity committee to name just a few. Leslie is also involved nationally and is the current anti-racism chair, an executive board position for the National Consortium of Higher Education LGBT Resource Professionals.

Katy holds a master’s degree in Higher Education Administration and Policy from Northwestern University and a bachelor’s in Women’s and Gender Studies from Carleton College. Her prior experience working with LGBT populations includes leading LGBT ally trainings at Northwestern, counseling LGBT youth at the Center on Halsted, a community service organization in Chicago, and interning in the LGBT Resource Center at the University of California-Riverside. Katy is committed to approaching LGBT work with a social justice framework, recognizing the roles that power and privilege play in all of our lives.

Bethany is a Champaign-Urbana native. Her committment to being a life-long student brought her to her career in Higher Education. She began working at the University of Illinois in 2006 in the Office of Admissions and Records and joined the LGBT Resource Center staff in March of 2008. Bethany identifies as a strong ally to the LGBT community and is continuously learning new ways to make a positive impact.
