Outstanding Staff and Program Awards Committee

The purpose of the Outstanding Staff and Program Awards is to celebrate our outstanding staff and programs in Student Affairs! 

The Committee selects three individual honorees each year - people who have shown exceptional service to students and the University in addition to demonstrating exemplary commitment to the professional standards and mission of Student Affairs.  One program is also recognized for its outstanding contribution to Student Affairs. Committee members review nominations and make recommendations to the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs.

10 staff members (one from each Student Affairs department)

2 ex-officios (Assistant to the Vice Chancellor, Turner Fellow)

 

Time Commitment

This is a spring-semester time commitment.

 

There is an initial meeting in January to discuss the process, and then committee members are asked to publicize the nomination and selection process within their departments and organizations.  After the conclusion of the nomination period, committee members meet to review nominations, choose the most outstanding candidates based upon the selection criteria, and forward these names to the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs for action.  Committee members are invited to attend the recognition event for the awardees.
