African American Cultural Center Advisory Committee

The purpose of the Advisory Committee is to review, evaluate, and make recommendations regarding the policies, programs and services of the Bruce D. Nesbitt African American Cultural Center (BNAACC). The committee also provides advice and recommendations regarding resources related to the support for the cultural center, including budget, personnel, and facilities.The committee should seek to enhance the cultural center’s goals of supporting the educational, cultural, social and developmental needs of students, and of advancing multicultural awareness on campus and in the wider community.

Two students from this committee will serve as representatives on the Student Cultural Programming Fee Committee, which is charged with evaluating applications for use of funds generated from the Cultural Programming Fee. That committee will make recommendations for disbursement of those funds to Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs.

Time Commitment

The BNAACC Advisory Committee will meet once a month. At each meeting, the Director will provide the committee with reports of the various programs that have taken place at the center or with the center’s support. In addition, those committee members conducting the assessment and evaluation of the BNAACC on the subcommittee, will receive documents and reports to properly measure and evaluate the effectiveness and impact of the BNAACC.
